Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a fast-growing part of the RAC, dedicated to delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to our members—right from their driveway to their workplace car park.

Where You’ll Work\n

As part of the Guildford cluster, you’ll cover areas like Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Camberley, Aldershot, Fleet, Godalming, and Haslemere. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, tackling a clearly planned schedule of appointments—no reactive callouts, just organized, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job right.

Your day kicks off with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre-booked, and the member is expecting you. You’ll carry out:

• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop

• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
\n
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

What You’ll Need\n

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Either an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
\n
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
\n
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
\n
